Selection Of Interns

Shortlisting and selecting interns will be the responsibility of the relevant organisation, group, or division for the relevant domain. Personal or Skype interviews will be held to select interns; candidates will not be compensated for attending personal interviews; and a list of all selected candidates will be posted on the web portal.

 

Code Of Conduct Of Interns

  • The interns must abide by all the rules and regulations that apply to ministry employees.
  • The intern should adhere to the ministry’s confidentiality policies
  • The intern is not permitted to assert any intellectual property rights.
  • The sponsoring institution and the students won’t be able to contest the project’s outcome.
  • All intellectual property rights created during a project, including patents, designs, software copyright, publications, etc., are owned by the ministry.
  • The intern must obtain ministry approval in advance in order to present the work to academic institutions and at seminars or conferences.
  • All interns are obligated to abide by the ministry’s recommendations with regard to their representation of third parties.
  • The intern is not permitted to communicate with or speak for the ministry in front of third parties, however some interns may be given permission to do so based on their duties and responsibilities.
  • Interns are not permitted to speak on behalf of the ministry in the media.
  • The interns must be on site at the ministry from 9 am to 5:30 pm, unless an exception is made, and they must maintain a professional connection with the ministry and the general public.
  • During the internship, the intern should organise their own housing.
  • Interns cannot borrow books from the ministry’s library, which is only available for referencing. However, interns who have paid the relevant fees can borrow xerox copies from the library.
  • If the intern’s performance is deemed inadequate, the ministry may advise the intern to stop working on the project before the internship period is through.

 

Submission Of Paper Under Digital India Internship Scheme

  • At the conclusion of the internship, the intern is required to provide a report on the work he or she has completed during the internship to the ministry. • The supervisors or mentors will design work plans and work schedules, and the interns will stick to the same.
  • The project report that the intern has created should be exactly the same in every way when it is presented to the ministry and the sponsoring institution where the intern is enrolled.
  • Following the end of their internship, students must submit a no-demand certificate to the ministry along with a soft copy and a physical copy of their project report.• All certificates in the project report should indicate that the project work was completed at the ministry, and the certificate that will be attached to the project report should have the cover page.
  • The project’s acknowledgment sheet should include the mentor’s or supervisor’s name.

 

Token Remuneration Under Digital India Internship Scheme

The amount of remuneration of Rs 10000 per month will be paid after the student has completed the internship and submitted the report. The report must be duly accepted by the ministry in order to receive the remuneration. The ministry will also issue the certificate to the interns upon completion of internship and submission of project report.

 

Termination Under Digital India Internship Scheme

  • The ministry also has the authority to terminate an intern’s services at any time, for any reason, and with immediate effect.
  • The ministry can terminate any intern if their services are no longer needed.
  • If the intern wishes to terminate his or her employment, he or she must give the ministry two weeks’ advance notice.
  • Upon termination, the intern must return to the ministry all materials, tools, and assets provided to him or her for project work.
  • If any intern persists in giving the impression that he or she is still employed by the ministry after termination, the ministry is free to take appropriate legal action against that individual.

 

Eligibility Criteria Of Digital India Internship Scheme

  • Students who are currently enrolled in BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech, M.Sc(Electronics), MCA, DoEACC ‘B’ Level, or the LLB programme are also eligible, but they must be permanent residents of India and have attended a university that is recognised internationally. Students who will graduate in the summer of 2021 and are in their final semester are not eligible for internships.
  • Students who have been enrolled for at least a year are eligible.
  • LLB students will only be considered for internships in the area of cyber law or the IT Act.
  • Possession of the a minimum of the aforementioned qualifications does not guarantee an internship; rather, preference will be given to candidates who have experience in the field of the intended internship, have a strong academic record, and hold higher qualifications.
