One Nation, One Fertiliser | PM Modi | Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Urvarak Pariyojana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘One Nation, One Fertiliser’ scheme on Monday.  PM Modi said that through this scheme, the cost of fertilizers will be reduced and their availability will be increased.

What is the ‘One Nation, One Fertiliser’ scheme?

The ‘One Nation, One Fertiliser’ scheme or the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Urvarak Pariyojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the event. Under this scheme, all types of fertilizers, whether it is DAP, NPK, or urea will be sold under the brand name of ‘Bharat’. This will standardize fertilizer brands across the nation irrespective of the company that manufactures it, said Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar.

The Prime Minister said that the ‘One Nation, One Fertiliser’ scheme will ensure affordable quality fertilizers under the brand name Bharat to the farmers. Further, he added that all kinds of confusion about the quality of the fertilizers and their availability to the farmers will be cleared. This scheme will result in the reduction of the cost of fertilizers and increase their availability to the farmers.

After launching the ‘One Nation One Fertilizer’ scheme, PM Modi said, “Now, urea of uniform quality will be sold in the country under one name and one brand. This brand is Bharat. Today, in the form of One Nation One Fertilizer, a scheme has been started to provide cheaper and good quality fertilizers to the farmers under the Bharat brand. With One Nation One Fertilizer, farmers are going to get rid of all kinds of confusion and will get better fertilizer.”

Farmers are confused and under the illusion about fertilizer brands and are not getting the quality soil nutrients as retailers are pushing certain brands in hopes of higher commissions and because companies run certain advertisements for particular products. The scheme will solve all such problems, he said. Competition among companies that push their brands will get reduced with this single branding, which will ensure a sufficient supply of fertilizers across the country, added PM Modi.
